Plano Justice of Peace Court serves the residents of Collin County, the 99th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Plano district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Plano Justice of Peace Court judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Plano. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Collin County Courthouse. The Plano Justice of Peace Court is located on 920 East Park Boulevard in the city of Plano, the Collin county seat.

The administration of justice in the Plano Justice of Peace Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Collin County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Collin County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Plano Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1901 in the Collin Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1879. Four courthouses have been built in Plano. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 972-881-3001 or fax 972-881-3098 to the court during office hours to get more information.
