McKinney Municipal Court was first built in 1892 in the Collin Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in April 1853. Four courthouses have been built in McKinney. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
