Mont Belvieu Justice Court was first built in 1847 in the Chambers Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1850. Four courthouses have been built in Baytown. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
