Dimmitt Municipal Court was first built in 1908 in the Castro Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1906. Four courthouses have been built in Dimmitt. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
