Groom Municipal Court serves the residents of Carson County, the 38th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Groom district clerk and county clerk. Groom Municipal Court was first built in 1851 in the Carson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1861. Four courthouses have been built in Groom. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
