Carson County Court serves the residents of Carson County, the 38th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Panhandle district clerk and county clerk. The current Carson County Court judge has been in office since 2018 and has dedicated his life serving the Panhandle. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Carson County Courthouse. The administration of justice in the Carson County Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Carson County Clerk’s Office. Carson County Court was first built in 1907 in the Carson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1910. Four courthouses have been built in Panhandle. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
