Luling Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1908 in the Caldwell Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1915. Four courthouses have been built in Luling. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
