Marble Falls Justice of Peace Court I serves the residents of Burnet County, the 250th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Marble Falls district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Marble Falls Justice of Peace Court I judge has been in office since 2011 and has dedicated his life serving the Marble Falls. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Burnet County Courthouse. The Marble Falls Justice of Peace Court I is located on 810 Steve Hawkins Parkway in the city of Marble Falls, the Burnet county seat.

The administration of justice in the Marble Falls Justice of Peace Court I is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Burnet County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Burnet County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site http://www.ci.marble-falls.tx.us/161/Municipal-Court.

Marble Falls Justice of Peace Court I was first built in 1858 in the Burnet Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1856. Four courthouses have been built in Marble Falls. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-798-3205 or fax 830-798-3216 to the court during office hours to get more information.
