Lyons Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1899 in the Burleson Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in May 1903. Four courthouses have been built in Somerville. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
