Brooks District Court II serves the residents of Brooks County, the 21th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Falfurrias district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Brooks District Court II judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Falfurrias. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Brooks County Courthouse. The Brooks District Court II is located on 117 East Miller Street in the city of Falfurrias, the Brooks county seat.

The administration of justice in the Brooks District Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Brooks County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Brooks County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Brooks District Court II was first built in 1867 in the Brooks Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1890. Four courthouses have been built in Falfurrias. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 361-325-5604 or fax 361-325-2803 to the court during office hours to get more information.
