Brooks District Court II was first built in 1867 in the Brooks Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1890. Four courthouses have been built in Falfurrias. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
