Brooks County Court serves the residents of Brooks County, the 21th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Falfurrias district clerk and county clerk. Brooks County Court was first built in 1871 in the Brooks Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in January 1863. Four courthouses have been built in Falfurrias. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
