Alpine Municipal Court serves the residents of Brewster County, the 153th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Alpine Municipal Court was first built in 1850 in the Brewster Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1895. Four courthouses have been built in Alpine. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
