Lake Jackson Municipal Court serves the residents of Brazoria County, the 189th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Lake Jackson district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Lake Jackson Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Lake Jackson. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Brazoria County Courthouse. The Lake Jackson Municipal Court is located on 5 Oak Drive in the city of Lake Jackson, the Brazoria county seat.

The administration of justice in the Lake Jackson Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Brazoria County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Brazoria County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Lake Jackson Municipal Court was first built in 1856 in the Brazoria Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1886. Four courthouses have been built in Lake Jackson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 979-297-1031 or fax 979-292-0130 to the court during office hours to get more information.
