Lake Jackson Municipal Court was first built in 1856 in the Brazoria Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in February 1886. Four courthouses have been built in Lake Jackson. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
