Somerset Municipal Court serves the residents of Bexar County, the 210th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Somerset district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.
The current Somerset Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2015 and has dedicated his life serving the Somerset. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Bexar County Courthouse. The Somerset Municipal Court is located on 7360 East 6th Street in the city of Somerset, the Bexar county seat.
The administration of justice in the Somerset Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Bexar County Clerk’s Office. The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Bexar County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.
Somerset Municipal Court was first built in 1885 in the Bexar Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in June 1849. Four courthouses have been built in Somerset. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-701-4100 or fax 830-429-3781 to the court during office hours to get more information.
