Live Oak Municipal Court was first built in 1877 in the Bexar Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in November 1848. Four courthouses have been built in Live Oak. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
