Seymour Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1895 in the Baylor Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in September 1906. Four courthouses have been built in Seymour. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
