Muleshoe Municipal Court serves the residents of Bailey County, the 117th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. Muleshoe Municipal Court was first built in 1893 in the Bailey Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1880. Four courthouses have been built in Muleshoe. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
