Muleshoe Municipal Court serves the residents of Bailey County, the 117th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Muleshoe district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Muleshoe Municipal Court judge has been in office since 2012 and has dedicated his life serving the Muleshoe. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Bailey County Courthouse. The Muleshoe Municipal Court is located on 215 South 1st Street in the city of Muleshoe, the Bailey county seat.

The administration of justice in the Muleshoe Municipal Court is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Bailey County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Bailey County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Muleshoe Municipal Court was first built in 1893 in the Bailey Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in March 1880. Four courthouses have been built in Muleshoe. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 806-272-7586 or fax 806-272-5260 to the court during office hours to get more information.
