Pleasanton Justice of Peace Court II serves the residents of Atascosa County, the 215th largest county in Texas state. The county falls in the third senatorial district and the 11th congressional district. As a result, it holds a very special role that makes it supported by both the Pleasanton district clerk and county clerk. Issues that should be filed with the county clerk or the district clerk should be strictly filed within the respective courts; luckily, the staff is friendly and will help you through the process.

The current Pleasanton Justice of Peace Court II judge has been in office since 2014 and has dedicated his life serving the Pleasanton. The courts, the district clerk, and the county clerk’s office are located in the historic Atascosa County Courthouse. The Pleasanton Justice of Peace Court II is located on 710 2nd Street in the city of Pleasanton, the Atascosa county seat.

The administration of justice in the Pleasanton Justice of Peace Court II is open, transparent, and open to the public. All the proceedings and acts of the court are recorded and maintained by the Atascosa County Clerk’s Office.  The public can access the record online or by mailing the county clerk’s office located at Atascosa County Courthouse. The requests are made by creating a written statement indicating a request for the records, the case number, and requisite application fees in a stamped self-addressed envelope. For more information about court proceedings, visit the court’s official site.

Pleasanton Justice of Peace Court II was first built in 1847 in the Atascosa Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in October 1861. Four courthouses have been built in Pleasanton. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome. You can call 830-569-2801 to the court during office hours to get more information.
