Jourdanton Municipal Court was first built in 1911 in the Atascosa Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in August 1847. Four courthouses have been built in Jourdanton. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
