Megargel Justice of Peace Court was first built in 1867 in the Archer Courthouse Square where the first sessions of the court were held alfresco underneath the boughs of oak trees in December 1912. Four courthouses have been built in Megargel. The current fourth courthouse is a great architectural marvel featuring a double-spiral staircase and a beautiful stained-glass montage in the dome.
